rada neal: Guestbook

Deborah

Dear Rada,

I want you to know what your music has done for me. I studied(?) piano as a child but was intimidated by 88 keys and 10 little fingers! I NEVER thought I would master it. When my mother finally allowed me to give it up after years of half--hearted attempts to play, I felt tremendous relief; but I would still look at the piano with a mixture of longing and frustration and tried to convince myself I just did not have what it took.

Years went by without any playing at all. I tried to put the piano out of my mind, surpress the longing to be able to play -- why try when you don't have the talent is what I kept asking myself Then I heard your Coming Home. It went straight to my heart! I tried to fight it, but it won. I bought a keyboard, am practicing again, and now at middle age I am finding the pleasure in the piano I longed to feel as a child. YOUR music did it for me. I knew I just HAD to be able to play Coming Home, for whatever reason I don't know, but that selection ignited the fire once again. There was no debate. Perhaps my "home" is the piano after all. This selection makes it all feel so very RIGHT.

Thank you for your lovely music!

Gratefully,
Deborah

Dear Rada,
I was reading the article about you in the Durango Herald and when I came to the end of it I had one of those "what a small world" moments when I read that your father worked for Inland Steel. My father also worked for Inland. His name was Dr. Edward H. Carleton and he was Medical Director of Inland Steel from the Second World War until about 1970 when he retired. I think it is entirely possible that our fathers had contact at some time or other over that 30 year period. My mother was a concert harpist and played with chamber groups around Chicago when I was small. We eventually moved to Schererville, Ind.,and I graduated high school from Hammond High. My husband is a retired surgeon and we now live in Durango. I look forward to hearing your music.
Sincerely, Sue Brenner

Your music naturally flows through your fingers and comes from deep within your heart. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent not only in your CD's, but also in the excellent music scores that I was able to purchase and enjoy at my piano. I enjoy your various styles and I wish you much success.

Love you music! Ellen brought a couple of your CD's in to work and I've listened to them over and over (I could not part with them). Your music is very soothing and it relaxes me. I've shared your music with a couple of my collegues and they are also quickly becoming fans!

I'd love bring my family to one of your concerts (if you have one locally at some time soon). Maybe you can inspire my daughter to begin playing the piano again.

God Bless You,

Ran-D

Rada - it was really good talking to you today, and the 'common thread' is so ironic - it really is a small world we live in! I've been listening to some of your clips, and we may have a hard time deciding what to order - they all sound wonderful! We'll let you know. Terry

I played it for someone and they thought it was from the Windham Hill series...I can't wait until Oprah discovers you!!

I'm thoroughly enjoying "A Beginning" that Binky left with us. I cannot imagine playing such music, much less composing it! It is wonderful the way you two support and encourage each other. We were tickled to have Binky and Domino visit here, and I know you enjoyed a great week together. Now we have this memento of the two of you!

I ordered the sheetmusic from you, Rada, and have been enjoying it so much! Each piece is a little exquisite gem. "A Tender Moment", "Mystique"....I've been looking for haunting vignettes of music like this to play all my life! Felt like I was 'coming home' when I had the great pleasure of discovering these treasures. Can't wait for your next book of music. Thank you Rada :-)

My computer wouldn't let me listen to any of your music, but I am sure that it is beautiful. I myself love to hear the passion of a pianist expressed throught the keys of their instrument. But although I wish I could play, I don't have any experience with the piano other than "twinkle twinkle little star", and even that is a bit rusty. I'm seventeen and I live in Minnesota. The actual reason that I was drawn to this site was the name Jandrich (mine!) that is mentioned somewhere on this site hyphenated with Neal. Since there are very few Jandrich's in the world.. I was wondering if it might just be a relative of mine?

We heard the latest CD last night at a friend's house over dinner. It was as if my friend's pianist sister were playing in the next room! It was so lovely, I had to order a CD for our own living room and a couple more for friends.

I was your roommate on 7th street in Bloomington with Kathy G. 1970-71. I married the guy I met while we were living there (Bill McKimmie) & moved to Seattle in 1975. I have 2 beautiful daughters, but sadly am a widow now. I have new Bosnian neighbors & I've been thinking of you, Rada. Congratulations on your success. You look beautiful in your picture. I'm so happy for you. Hope all is well in all areas of your life. Love, Donna

I have all THREE of your cds. I play them at work. Even though I'm on the phone a lot and there is a lot of traffic through my office, your music sets the tone to a pleasant work environment. It's not distracting and yet it can be inspiring at times when I need it. You have a gift worth sharing!

I thought I would say hello. I believe your last name was Jandrich when you lived in East Chicago. We were in the same class at WHS. I have no idea whether you'll have any recollection of me. My sister made me aware of your website; she had been a friend of your sister, Binky, as I recall her name. It is terrific that you're doing what you love. Do you ever visit the old country? My best to you and your family. Marjan

I have been listening to your music on Spirit Within, and I find that when your music plays, I always stop what I am doing, to find out who it is! I am drawn in by your music. You are blessed with divine talent. Ours is a stressful life right now, my husband is in Iraq, and I have 3 children, one visiting right now, but is leaving to go live with her grandma until my husband gets home. I have a baby son that my husband has only met 3 times in is first 14 months of life. Your music heals the pain for the moment, and makes the day brighter. Thank you for sharing your heart and soul with the world to make it a better place.

Rada,
We love listening to your CD and have shared it with others, both in our home and as gifts. The response is always the same. Your music is beautiful. I knew you had so much music in you the first time we met in Colorado. Listening to you play inspired me to continue my dreams of playing the piano. Since we've moved to Virginia, I've been fortunate to buy a new piano and have started playing again. I spend many hours enjoying your book, Second Steps. Thank you so much for your gift of music and your inspiration.
